Attention: Permit holders who use Donald Street, Hamilton
The NHVR in consultation with Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) will be temporarily amending access for certain heavy vehicles due to emergency works being required along Donald Street, Hamilton.
The closure is planned to be in effect from 13 November 2024 to 25 November 2024.
The detour for the closure is via Stewart Avenue, City Road, Pacific Highway, Newcastle Inner City Bypass, Wallsend Road, Newcastle Inner City Bypass, Hillsborough Road, Macquarie Road, Main Road, Glendale Drive, Lake Road and Thomas Stand and is applicable to Performance Based Standards (PBS) Level 2B vehicles that have a current heavy vehicle access permit with route specific access that includes Donald Street, Hamilton that is impacted by this closure.
Other restricted access heavy vehicles operating under a heavy vehicle access permit must not travel off the approved route listed in their permit. An updated permit must be obtained from the NHVR. Please see the following variation letter and detail of works for more information of the alternate route and conditions of travel. A copy of the variation letter must be carried along with the permit and produced to an authorised officer upon request.
