Fatigue choices

Fatigue choices is the NHVR’s initiative to help drivers and operators understand and gain access to the options that are available for more flexible fatigue management arrangements.

Advanced Fatigue Management (AFM) Outreach Program

With revised Fatigue Management Standards now in place, it’s the perfect opportunity for operators to consider Advanced Fatigue Management to achieve greater flexibility with work and rest hours.

The story so far...

Between April and June 2021, representatives from the NHVR’s Fatigue and Human Factors team travelled around Australia holding free, one-on-one consultations to help operators decide whether AFM may be suitable for their unique business requirements.

All consultations are confidential and without obligation.

Here’s a sample of some of the anonymous survey feedback we’ve received so far from the AFM Outreach consultations:

“I highly suggest that people take up the opportunity to meet with NHVR consultants when they can, they make the process of applying less daunting”
“The opportunity to interact face to face is rare and helps the clarity of communication greatly. So a great opportunity and a good information session”
“The NHVR Consultants were extremely good to talk to which made asking questions - no matter how trivial - very easy”
“I found the consultation session very beneficial and would encourage interested parties to reach out to the NHVR for an overview and assistance”

What’s coming up?

The next round of free consultations is anticipated to start towards the end of 2021! We’ll be visiting all participating jurisdictions, so watch this page for updates on dates and locations as soon as they’re finalised.

Don’t delay! Register your interest for a free virtual consultation or in-person consultation in the next round of Fatigue Choices Outreach.  Once you register we’ll be in touch to either schedule a time for a virtual consultation or acknowledge your expression of interest for an in-person consultation.
