Social media

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator’s (NHVR) social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and YouTube) exist to deliver timely and relevant content that educates and engages our audience.

Through this, we aim to build understanding of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and support improved safety and compliance across the industry.

The NHVR encourages open discussion, and in order to create a positive and engaging environment for the community, we ask all users to treat each other with respect.

The NHVR will not tolerate the following on its corporate social media accounts:

  • obscene, offensive or inappropriate language or content
  • harassment, abuse, threats, attacks, discrimination or hate speech
  • spam (off-topic, repetitive, external URLs (web addresses))
  • advertisements or endorsements of anything that is not related to the NHVR
  • posts containing personal information, such as email addresses, phone numbers and home addresses
  • content that could be seen as defamatory towards an individual, company or brand.

When interacting with our social pages the NHVR requests that you:

  • are always respectful to others.

If users are repeatedly in breach of the NHVR social media policies, the NHVR may ban and report them on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. For the X (Twitter) account, their user profile may be muted and reported.

Social media posts and comments must also adhere to that platforms’ own community guidelines, user agreements and policies.

We monitor our social media channels from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm (excluding public holidays). Outside of these business hours, NHVR staff do not moderate comments, unless by exception.
