National notices

The national notices below consolidate previous arrangements in all Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) participating states (other than ACT), resulting in multiple state-based notices being combined into single national notices. You do not need to carry a copy of the national notice that you operating under, except for the National Heavy Vehicle Concrete Agitator Work and Rest Hours Exemption (Notice) 2017 (No 1).

For the most part, previous conditions applied in state-based notices continue to apply. Existing approved areas and routes remain in force and can be accessed via links in each national notice. Variations to authorised routes will be made in the manner set out in the relevant notice (for example, through amendments to published maps, or the addition of routes to the notices themselves). All national notices are issued for a maximum of 5 years.

Acronyms used in table: MDL – Mass, dimension and loading; VS – Vehicle standards.
