The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator’s Vision 2035 project has been established to provide a clear-eyed vision of how the future of the heavy vehicle industry may evolve over the next decade, identifying key trends, opportunities and challenges.
The NHVR has invited people from across industry within Australia to partake in dynamic and collaborative workshops, as we tackle key questions on how we can best prepare and plan for the heavy vehicle industry of the future.
Throughout February and March, the NHVR hosted workshops across the country, including in Sydney, Tamworth, Melbourne, Launceston, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Townsville.
What is Vision 2035?
The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator's Vision 2035 Project has been developed to help inform the regulator’s future organisational planning and strategy. With Australia’s heavy vehicle industry rapidly evolving, the NHVR wants to ensure its practices and policies remain relevant, and continue to add value to industry.
Through a series of workshops across the country during the first few months of 2025, the NHVR heard industry stakeholders’ insights about their priorities, potential risks, challenges, and opportunities to assist the NHVR in identifying trends likely to impact the heavy vehicle industry in a decade's time.
The workshop insights and contributions will be collated and analysed allowing the NHVR to identify key themes and trends for further exploration.
This process will include harnessing information from research organisations and conducting data and literature reviews on each theme.
The NHVR expects to commence shaping the Vision 2035 blueprint by late 2025, with the goal of publishing a final version in the first half of 2026.
We look forward to sharing more with you soon.
