PBS Standards review

The review of PBS Standards will be undertaken in 4 phases to ensure that it is completed in a timely and accurate manner, while considering the Standards that will be directly/indirectly influenced because of any potential changes.

Phase 1

We engaged research organisation TERNZ Transport Research to conduct an independent review of the following three standards under Phase 1 of the Standards Review. In November 2019, Ministers endorsed the recommended amendments to these standards and is currently progressing implementation.

We anticipate announcing the introduction of revised standards before the end of 2024.

Phase 2

We have completed the review of the following standards under Phase 2.

Phase 3

We anticipate releasing the Phase 3 Options Paper before the end of 2024.

Phase 4
