Updating vehicles in NHVAS

Adding or removing vehicles

To add or remove vehicles or trailers from your accreditation, log in to NHVR Go and submit an ‘update vehicles’ application. You can add and remove vehicles in one application.

Adding vehicles

To add a vehicle/trailer, go to the next blank row and enter the vehicle(s)/trailer(s) details. The action column should display the word ‘Add’. Once the vehicle/s details have been entered to be added, select ‘Next’* and complete the rest of the workflow.

*Note – required fields must be entered before selecting ‘Next’, or no vehicle details will be saved.

Removing vehicle/s

To remove a vehicle/trailer, select the bin icon next to the row for the vehicle(s)/trailer(s) you want to remove; the action column should display the word ‘Delete’. Once vehicles have been removed, select ‘Next’ and complete the rest of the workflow.

Update registration number

To notify the NHVR of an update to a current vehicle registration, send an email to accreditation@nhvr.gov.au and let us know the details of the change. There is no need for you to submit an application in NHVR Go, as registration updates occur automatically.

Selling or buying a nominated vehicle from one Scheme member to another

When moving vehicles between two accredited operators, the movement of vehicles between members must be completed within 14 days of the vehicles being removed from the seller’s accreditation and added to the buyer’s accreditation. We recommend that sellers contact us on 13 NHVR (13 64 87) before the move so that we can support both parties in a smooth transaction.

Selling a nominated vehicle

When selling a vehicle that has been nominated as part of your accredited fleet, you must advise us within 14 days of disposal by submitting an ‘update vehicles’ application in NHVR Go. All labels must be removed and destroyed. Interception books must be removed and should be stored to meet record-keeping requirements.

Buying a nominated vehicle

Once the seller has removed the vehicle from their fleet, you must submit an ‘update vehicles’ application in NHVR Go to add it to your fleet within 14 days of being removed from the previous owner’s accreditation.

Selling a maintenance module vehicle to a non-Scheme member

When selling a vehicle that is nominated in your maintenance module to a non-Scheme member, you may be required to obtain a vehicle Certificate of Inspection (COI) depending on the relevant state road transport authority’s requirements.
