Managing Effluent in the Livestock Supply Chain Industry Code of Practice

This consultation closed on Friday 4 November 2022. The NHVR would like to thank everyone who took the time to provide feedback.

Background

The NHVR sought feedback for the draft Managing Effluent in the Livestock Supply Chain Industry Code of Practice

The code is a practical guide that assists livestock transporters and parties in the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) to comply with their primary duty and other obligations under the HVNL relevant to managing livestock effluent during road transport.

Development of the code was sponsored by the Australian Livestock and Rural Transporters Association (ALRTA) in consultation with a wide range of representative stakeholders and assistance from the NHVR.

Why we consulted

Feedback direct from industry ensures that the code of practice is comprehensive, up to date, and useful to its target audience.

Outcome

The Managing Effluent in the Livestock Supply Chain RICP was endorsed by the NHVR for registration on 23 December 2022 and became a Registered Industry Code of Practice.
