The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator has thanked outgoing Australian Trucking Association Chair Noelene Watson for her contributions to the Australian heavy vehicle industry as Chair over the past three years.
NHVR Chair Bruce Baird said Noelene’s advocacy on behalf of her members had led to significant reforms.
“I want to thank Noelene for her commitment to the trucking industry and look forward to continuing to work with her in her ongoing role as a member of the ATA Board and its Council,” Mr Baird said.
“We have worked closely with Noelene and her team on significant initiatives for the heavy vehicle industry, including national notices and the NHVR Guidelines for Industry Codes of Practice.
“Her feedback on the delivery of the NHVR portal added to its success and I value our partnership across several safety programs, including our sponsorship of the ATA Safety Truck.”
Mr Baird said the NHVR looks forward to working with the incoming Chair as our two organisations develop practical approaches to boosting safety and productivity across this significant sector of the Australian economy.
