The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator has thanked outgoing National Transport Commission Chairman David Anderson for his contribution to the Australian transport and the heavy vehicle industry.
NHVR CEO Sal Petroccitto said David's guidance over the past four years had provided the foundations for the NHVR to deliver significant reform across heavy vehicle safety and productivity.
"David and his team have shown strong leadership in developing legislation and have been willing to collaborate with the NHVR and heavy vehicle industry to progress important initiatives," Mr Petroccitto said.
"While David was a significant contributor in his role as Chairman, he also lent his experience as part of the NHVR’s PBS Performance Review Panel and across freight policy.
"I've welcomed his counsel on many issues and I wish him all the best in his future."
Mr Petroccitto said the NHVR looked forward to continuing a close working relationship with the NTC to continue the safety and productivity programs being delivered across the heavy vehicle industry.
