The NHVR has congratulated Dr Gillian Miles on her appointment as National Transport Commission CEO and Commissioner.
NHVR CEO Sal Petroccitto said the appointment would continue the strong cooperation between the NHVR and the NTC for ongoing reform to heavy vehicle safety and productivity.
“The NHVR has had a robust and constructive working relationship with the NTC across a wide range of heavy vehicle issues and I look forward to continuing that with Gillian’s appointment,” Mr Petroccitto said.
“Gillian brings a wealth of knowledge to the role and experience in managing complex land transport issues.
“I would also like to acknowledge the work of interim CEO Dr Geoff Allan who has been filling the role following the departure of former CEO Paul Retter in late 2018.”
Among the key tasks of the NTC is to lead and coordinate the current review of the Heavy Vehicle National Law, before consideration by state and federal ministers.
