The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has flagged changes this weekend, 5 – 7 October, as NSW, SA and the ACT celebrate the Labour Day public holiday and Queensland marks the Queen’s Birthday.
Operators should be aware of changes to opening hours and on-road conditions.
NHVR offices in Queensland, SA and the ACT will all be closed on Monday for the long weekend.
However, operators will still be able to get in touch with the NHVR on Monday as normal by calling 13 NHVR (136 487) for support.
In NSW there will also be travel restrictions in place for OSOM vehicles over the whole weekend. Operators in NSW should jump online and make sure they’re complying with these conditions.
Remember that if you’re on the road this weekend that roads are likely to be busier – so drive carefully and allow extra time to get to your destination.
