The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) is proud to celebrate Truck Week 2026, a week coordinated by the Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia (HVIA) recognising the hundreds of thousands of truck drivers, operators, and businesses who keep Australia’s economy moving every day.
From delivering essential goods to regional communities, supporting major industries, and ensuring supermarket shelves stay stocked, Australia’s heavy vehicle industry is the backbone of the nation.
Throughout Truck Week, the NHVR’s social media channels will shine a spotlight on the people, stories, and safety practices that drive the industry forward - while reinforcing its role in supporting a safer, more productive, and more sustainable future for heavy vehicles across Australia.
The NHVR’s popular What’s Your 20? Podcast will also return, with Season 2 launching later this week.
NHVR Executive Director Corporate Affairs Michelle Tayler said Truck Week was an opportunity to acknowledge the extraordinary contribution of the heavy vehicle sector while continuing to champion the importance of safety and compliance.
“Australia’s heavy vehicle industry keeps our country moving, and Truck Week is an opportunity to recognise the hardworking people at its heart - from drivers and operators to the businesses and families who support them,” Ms Tayler said.
“At the NHVR, we are proud to stand alongside industry as a modern regulator committed to making heavy vehicle operations safer, more productive, and more sustainable.
“This week is about celebrating the vital role truckies play in everyday Australian life, while also ensuring industry has access to practical tools, resources, and support to help them succeed.
“Whether it’s understanding fatigue management, load restraint, permit applications, or safer vehicle standards, the NHVR is here to help industry stay informed, compliant, and moving.”
Across the week, the NHVR will deliver engaging social media content, practical safety reminders, compliance resources, industry trivia, and educational materials designed to connect with drivers, operators, and the broader community.
