Tasmanian Agricultural and Horticultural Industry Code of Practice

This consultation closed on Friday 10 June 2022. The NHVR would like to thank everyone who took the time to provide feedback.

Background

The NHVR sought feedback for the draft Tasmanian Agricultural and Horticultural Industry Code of Practice.

The code highlights hazards such as fatigue, overloading, loss of load, and safe loading. It suggests measures that farmers, processors of agricultural products and transporters can take to reduce risks to public safety.

Development of the code was sponsored by the Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association with funding provided by the Tasmanian Government and assistance from the NHVR.

Why we consulted

Feedback direct from industry ensures that the code of practice is comprehensive, up to date and useful to industry.

Outcome

The Tasmanian Agricultural and Horticultural RICP was endorsed by the NHVR for registration on 30 June 2022 and became a Registered Industry Code of Practice.
