The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has today announced the launch of a pilot program that will allow its customers to track their road access applications online 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Chief Executive Sal Petroccitto says the NHVR has embarked on a new phase of sustainable improvement which includes looking at how to provide an improved level of service to clients.
"I would like to thank the participants from our Industry Groups that have volunteered their time to assist us in developing an application tracker as part of the AccessCONNECT Program.
We have been listening to industry about how we could improve our services and know that the application tracker will make it easier for every customer to track their road access application from any location at any time of the day", Mr Petroccitto said.
"This tool is also helping us to improve our current performance while will we work on the development of the new system – which will see the application tracker as a key function.
Working together on the tracker pilot with a cross section of our customers over the next month, will allow NHVR to ensure that we build a fit-for-purpose application tracker tool that is easy to use and connects well with our internal systems.
"The application tracker pilot is a result of the recent change in direction of the regulator and demonstrates that we are committed to increasing the amount of collaboration with industry to ensure we produce a better outward facing outcome", Mr Petroccitto said.
Once the pilot application tracker is fully operational with the industry volunteers, we will work with industry to schedule a wider rollout of the online tracking tool.
The Regulator will continue to work with industry, state and local government road managers to ensure that the development of tools and resources are focused on providing easier access for heavy vehicles to the road network.
