Board continuity for Regulator

20-10-2015

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) board of directors has been re-appointed for a second three year term.

The re-appointment ensures leadership continuity and stability for the Regulator as it continues to drive regulatory reform for the Australian Heavy Vehicle Transport Industry.

The Board is chaired by the Hon. Bruce Baird AM, with Peter Garske CEO of the Queensland Trucking Association taking up the role as Deputy Chair for this term. Other board members include NRMA Motoring & Services Director, Coral Taylor; OH&S, IR and public administration expert, Robin Stewart-Crompton; and senior business leader and Chair of Business South Australia, Vincent Tremaine.

The re-appointments will continue to ensure the NHVR delivers improved business performance and is well placed to achieve its vision of driving sustainable improvements to safety, productivity and efficiency outcomes across the heavy vehicle road transport industry.

NHVR Chief Executive Officer, Sal Petroccitto said the re-appointment sends a strong message of support for the Regulator and its reform agenda.

“We are delighted to have a wide breadth of business and industry expertise on our board to underpin our organisation and support the leadership team to deliver on the Regulator’s goals over the next three years,” said Mr Petroccitto.

The NHVR Board was established under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) following the unanimous recommendation by responsible State Ministers in 2012.
