The NHVR's Chain of Responsibility awareness campaign will be visible on major freight routes over the Easter holidays.
NHVR CEO Sal Petroccitto said billboards and on-vehicle advertising would support almost 30 Chain of Responsibility forums being held across the country during April and May.
"Responsibility for safety extends beyond just the driver – everyone has a role in heavy vehicle safety," Mr Petroccitto said.
"I'm urging all road users to take care around heavy vehicles.
"Easter is a busy time on our roads so plan ahead, share the road, be patient and stay safe."
Earlier this year, the NHVR announced a $20,000 four-year sponsorship of the Australian Trucking Association's Safety Truck to boost awareness on how to be safe around heavy vehicles.
"It is important for everyone to understand how to interact with heavy vehicles in a safe way," Mr Petroccitto said.
"The heavy vehicle safety video created in partnership with the ATA shows how serious we are about a safe industry and keeping our roads safe."
The ATA Safety Truck contributes to industry-led community events, road safety education programs for all ages and public events across the country.
