Industry wins from asset assessments

13-02-2024

The Strategic Local Government Asset Assessment Project (SLGAAP) is currently completing assessments of local government owned bridges and culverts to improve road manager understanding of local asset capability. There are presently approximately 150 bridges and culverts being assessed, with a further 100+ scheduled to be completed in the coming months.

This is great news for operators as local government road managers will be better placed to make decisions regarding access to these assets when requested across a range of vehicle configurations.

To supplement these assessments, a Vehicle Comparison Tool for Bridges (VCB) will soon be available for road managers, enabling them to make comparisons between vehicles to assess their suitability for travel over bridges. Through both initiatives, transport operators will continue to reap the economical and productivity benefits, which are at the forefront of the NHVRs SLGAAP project.

SLGAAP would like to hear from you about routes where asset capability may restrict heavy vehicle access to the broader road network, submit your idea and have your say on our project page.
