Attention: Approved temporary route variation for Class 1 OSOM heavy vehicle combinations via Leichhardt Highway due to Queensland Rail Crossing Works on Warrego Highway at Morven
The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR), in consultation with the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), will be temporarily restricting access on the Warrego Highway (at Morven) due to road works on Queensland Rail crossing both east and west of Morven.
Effective immediately, all vehicle combinations that have either a Ground Contact Width (GCW) that exceeds 3.0m and/or a load width that exceeds 3.5m that comply with the maximum allowable mass tables outlined in the variation letter are required to use the approved alternate route.
In order to use the alternate route, you must:
- hold an approved current permit for access on the Warrego Highway via Morven (between Roma and Charleville),
- comply with all conditions stated on the current permit, and
- scope the route prior to travel to ensure the combination can travel safely.
The temporary variation letter is valid for the duration of your current permit or until the Queensland Rail crossing works on the Warrego Highway at Morven (between Roma and Charleville) are completed. Eligible vehicles can access the alternate route via Leichhardt Highway, provided a copy of the approved variation letter is used in conjunction with your current permit. If you do not have a current permit, you are required to apply for the alternative route via NHVR Go. Vehicles exceeding the mass envelopes contained within the variation letter must apply for a permit through NHVR Go for further assessment.
A copy of this letter must be carried along with the permit and produced to an authorised officer upon request.
You must check the Conditions of Operation Database before you start your journey. Visit the QLDTraffic website, download the app or call 13 19 40 to report an incident or get real-time traffic reports.
